Post Operative Instructions For Eyelid Surgery
These post-operative instructions are intended as general guidelines to support your recovery. Your individual care plan may differ based on your specific procedure and medical needs, and Dr. Mucci or his team may provide personalized instructions to ensure the best results and safety.
- Do not drive a car, operate machinery or make important legal decisions for 24 hours after your surgery, since your judgment may be impaired.
- Drink plenty of liquids in the next 48 hours. You may resume your normal diet as tolerated. Adding additional protein will help during the healing process.
- Take medications as directed.
- Keep cool packs on your eyelids for the first twenty-four hours after surgery.
- Do not rub your eyes.
- Do not bend, strain, lift or exercise for at least one week, or until Dr. Mucci tells you it is okay.
- Sleep with your head elevated with two pillows for a few days after surgery.
- Makeup may be used to hide bruising two weeks after the surgery.
- You may shower the next day, please be careful around incisions and avoid anything harsh around the area.
